Mirroring reflects what is already there.

It becomes visible   
as something is recognised in return.

Reflects truth, reveals hidden patterns, shows the self through another’s gaze.

## origins

Mirrors were once rare treasures. From polished obsidian to still pools of water. They were used in divination, self-inquiry, and rituals of beauty and truth. In many traditions, mirroring was not just about appearance but about soul recognition.

 

## meaning

Reflection, recognition, clarity. Mirroring symbolises how we are seen and shaped by others, and how truth is revealed when it is reflected back to us.

 

## today

In relationships, communities, and even digital spaces, mirroring teaches us empathy. It reminds us that what we judge or admire in others often speaks of what lives within ourselves.

 

## practice

Sit across from a trusted friend. Look into their eyes without words for three breaths. Notice what arises in you and what might be reflected back.

 

## endurance

Mirroring endures because every soul seeks recognition. The mirror reminds us: we are never alone, for our image is always carried in the eyes of another.
