Lotus

A symbol of quiet awakening and rising clarity.

lotus

The Piece

This piece was formed in oak and brought to balance in the Forge of Elaryn.

The wood holds a warm grain that allows the lotus to emerge gently from the surface. Each petal was defined with steady precision, creating a calm symmetry across the square form.

Light moves softly across the carved lines, revealing contrast between the petals and the surrounding wood.

The Symbol

The lotus appears across many ancient traditions as a symbol of awakening and renewal. Growing from still waters, the flower rises toward light while remaining rooted below the surface.

Its layered petals represent the unfolding of awareness, opening gradually from centre to edge.

Within the Forge it speaks of clarity emerging from stillness and the quiet transformation that occurs when attention turns inward.

In the Forge

This piece began with the central petal, establishing the axis of the form.

The surrounding petals were then traced outward in balanced sequence, allowing the flower to open gradually across the surface.

As light moves across the grain the lotus reveals subtle depth between the layers, giving the sense of a flower quietly unfolding.
