Labyrinth
A path of consciousness turning inward toward the centre

The Piece
This piece was formed in stone and brought to clarity in the Forge of Elaryn.
The labyrinth unfolds gradually across the circular surface of the stone, its path winding inward toward a quiet centre. Each curve was engraved with care, allowing the lines to remain clear and balanced within the round form.
The surrounding stones echo this circular movement, creating a natural frame that reflects the calm rhythm of the path itself.
The Symbol
The labyrinth is one of the oldest symbolic patterns found in human history.
Unlike a maze, which contains multiple choices and dead ends, a labyrinth follows a single continuous path that leads from the outer edge to the centre and back again. For centuries it has been used as a symbol of journey, reflection, and inner discovery.
Labyrinths appear in ancient carvings, sacred architecture, and pilgrimage traditions, where walking the path was understood as a meditative act.
Within the Forge the labyrinth represents the quiet path inward; the understanding that the way forward is often found by turning toward the centre.
Status
In the Forge
This piece began with the central point of the labyrinth, establishing the quiet destination toward which the path would lead.
The lines were then engraved outward in a continuous motion, allowing the form to unfold gradually across the surface of the stone. Care was taken to maintain the balance between the turning curves and the open spaces between them.
As light moves across the stone the winding path becomes more pronounced, revealing the gentle rhythm of a journey that leads inward before returning outward once again.
