Mountains

An ancient knot of unity and enduring connection.

mountains

The Piece

This piece was formed in stone and brought into clarity in the Forge of Elaryn.

The mountains were engraved within a circular field, their simple lines rising from the base of the stone to form a quiet horizon of peaks. The geometry remains minimal, allowing the shape to be recognised instantly while keeping the form calm and balanced.

The surrounding stones echo the natural presence of the landscape, reinforcing the sense of grounding and permanence.

Its form remains restrained and steady, allowing the symbol to stand as a quiet reflection of the earth’s enduring strength.

The Symbol

Mountains have long represented stability, endurance, and the meeting place between earth and sky.

Across cultures they are seen as places of perspective and ascent — where the effort of climbing brings clarity and distance from the noise of the world below. Their peaks mark both challenge and arrival.

In symbolic language mountains often reflect inner elevation: the slow process of growth, discipline, and patience that leads toward a wider view.

Within the Forge the Mountains represent steadiness and perspective — a symbol of standing firm while rising toward clarity.

In the Forge

The piece began with the circular boundary, creating a calm frame for the landscape to appear within.

The mountain line was engraved next, beginning with the central peak before extending outward to form the surrounding ridges. The intention was to keep the form simple and balanced, allowing the symbol to remain clear without unnecessary detail.

Each line was cut with restraint so that the peaks emerge naturally from the stone rather than dominating it.

As light moves across the surface, the ridges catch gentle shadows, giving the impression of distant mountains resting quietly within the material.
