River Lines

A symbol of movement, flow, and the quiet rhythm of water.

waves

The Piece

This piece was formed in oak and shaped in the Forge of Elaryn.

The wood carries a warm, steady grain that allows the flowing lines to settle naturally within the square form. Each curve was established with measured precision, creating a gentle rhythm across the surface.

The carved lines create soft depth between surface and shadow, allowing the movement of the pattern to reveal itself as light moves across the grain.

The Symbol

Flowing lines have long been used to represent water, rivers, and the natural movement of life. Their repeating rhythm reflects the quiet persistence of currents that shape landscapes over time.

The form suggests motion without urgency, a reminder that steady flow can carry great strength.

Within the Forge it represents continuity, adaptability, and the quiet wisdom of following the natural course of things.

In the Forge

This piece began with the central line, establishing the rhythm of the pattern.

The surrounding lines were then traced in parallel movement, allowing the composition to remain balanced while the flow expanded across the surface.

As light moves across the wood the curves become more pronounced, giving the impression of water moving gently across the grain.
