The Stone

The Key
Every meaningful movement begins at a threshold.
A threshold is the point where awareness recognises that something is about to change. It is the moment between hesitation and action, between the familiar and the unknown.
The symbol reflects this moment of transition. The vertical line represents the individual standing in presence, while the arc suggests the doorway that appears before them.
The key does not push the crossing.
It simply marks the place where awareness pauses before stepping forward.

In the Making
The engraving was shaped through a careful sequence of movements.
The vertical line was traced first to establish the axis of the form. The curved arc above was then opened gently within the surface to create the sense of an approaching passage.
As light moves across the stone the arc and line reveal their relationship gradually.
The stone holds the mark quietly, reflecting the moment just before a crossing begins.
