The cocoon symbolises transformation that takes place out of sight.
It reflects the stage where growth is hidden, protected from interruption while something new is being prepared.
Across nature the cocoon marks the passage between forms.
What emerges later was shaped in stillness first.
The process cannot be rushed.
It unfolds when it is ready.

In the Making
The outer contour was traced first to establish the protective shape.
Layered bands were then engraved one by one so the surface suggested quiet enclosure.
The depth of the lines was kept gentle so light moves softly across the form.
From different angles the cocoon appears both closed and open, hinting at the change it contains.
