The First Sprout
A mark of beginning

The Stone
This stone carries the form of a small sprout rising from the surface.
Two young leaves open gently from a single stem.
The shape feels light and upward, as if something quiet has begun to grow.
Held in the hand the stone carries a sense of freshness and possibility.
A beginning that does not hurry.
A life just emerging.
The Symbol
Across cultures the sprout symbolises renewal and the quiet return of life.
After a cycle has ended and the field has rested, the first sign of growth appears.
The sprout represents the earliest movement of that new cycle.
Small.
Fragile.
Yet certain.
The beginning has already begun.

In the Making
The central stem was carved first to establish the upward direction of the form.
The two leaves were then engraved lightly so the shape would remain delicate and balanced.
When light moves across the surface the leaves catch a soft highlight, giving the impression of a young plant emerging from the stone.
