The Listening Vein
A mark of quiet perception

The Stone
This stone carries a single flowing line running through its centre.
The curve is gentle and continuous, like a current moving beneath the surface.
Unlike a path or boundary, the line suggests something that is sensed rather than seen.
Held in the hand the stone feels calm and attentive.
A quiet channel.
A subtle movement beneath stillness.
The Symbol
Across many traditions flowing lines have represented currents of life, memory and perception.
The vein symbol reflects the idea that listening is not only an act of the ear but of the whole being.
It represents the hidden channels through which awareness travels.
What moves quietly beneath the surface.
What can be heard when the mind grows still.

In the Making
The central line was carved first in a single continuous motion so the curve would retain its natural flow.
The groove was then deepened gradually to give the impression of a channel running through the stone.
When light passes across the surface the line appears to shift slightly, revealing the quiet movement within the form.
