In the Making
The circular boundary was carved first to establish the contained space of the form.
The horizontal line was then engraved to suggest the surface of the well.
Finally the small vertical opening was carved to give the symbol its sense of depth.
When light moves across the surface the inner lines create soft shadows, giving the impression of a quiet opening within the stone.
