ODE STONE

MIRROR OF EARTH AND STARS

Dark engraved stone with the Mirror of Earth and Stars symbol, a circle and curved line reflecting balance between earth and sky, from the Odes of Light collection of House of Veyrion.

The Stone

This stone carries a mark shaped as a quiet reflection.

A circular form rests above a horizontal line, while a curved arc unfolds beneath it, suggesting a mirrored relationship between above and below. The engraving remains restrained, allowing the balance of the form to emerge slowly within the stone.

The surface of the stone appears dark and speckled, holding tiny flecks of light that echo the gesture of the mark itself.

In the hand the stone feels steady and contemplative, as though the form invites the observer to pause and recognise the relationship between what is seen above and what is grounded below.

The form reflects.
The presence listens.

The Ode

The Mirror of Earth and Stars speaks of correspondence.

Across cultures and philosophies, the relationship between earth and sky has often been described as a reflection; the visible world mirroring deeper patterns beyond it.

The mark suggests this quiet alignment. The circle recalls the sky or the distant stars, while the curved form beneath reflects their presence within the world below.

Rather than dividing these realms, the symbol holds them together within a single gesture.

It reminds us that perception itself can become a mirror. Where the distant and the immediate recognise one another.

In the Making

The engraving was created through a sequence of balanced movements.

The horizontal line was traced first to establish the central axis of the form. The circle above was then opened carefully within the surface, followed by the curved arc beneath that completes the mirrored gesture.

As light passes across the dark stone, the engraving shifts gently between shadow and reflection.

The stone remains quiet, holding the mark as a small trace of the relationship it represents.
